Our Strategy
- Establish a group of energetic, determined individuals focused on the goal of a Recreation Path in the Mount Washington Valley. Meet our Board of Directors.
- Work with local organizations and businesses to develop awarness and support for the Recreation Path. Meet our Business Supporters.
- Schedule events that celebrate the enjoyment of a recreation path in our community. We invite all to join in bIking, walking and xc skiing events on other recreation paths and on the future route of our "Linear Parkway". See our Calendar of Events.
- Obtain support from our community.
- Obtain support from local government. Click to read how our trails and recreation paths are part of the Town of Conway Trails Master Plan.
- Working with the community, establish the location for a recreation path using existing trails, rails-with-trails, powerline/pipeline right-of-ways, etc.
- Optain the necessary permission for trail development. This includes state and town properties, Department of Transportation, utility right-of-ways, conservation commissions, and private land owners.
- Obtain design and engineering plans from local firms.
- Obtain cost estimates from local construction companies.
- Source funding from applicable grants. This includes national, state and regional sources such as the Transportation Alternatives Program, NH Recretional Trails Program, Rails-to-Trails programs, as well as local charitable organizations that promote wellness and recreation in our community.
